authorities on Jan. 4, 1996. He was arbitrarily arrested and detained by
Federal Investigation Agency on Nov. 28, 1995. During his confinement he

Dr. Halepota, who was born in Sindh, Pakistan and is a citizen of United

political scene, the harassment, detention and execution of political/human
rights activists is not a new phenomenon.

Many international forums including, Amnesty International, UN
Human Rights Commission in Geneva, European Parliament, UK
Government strongly condemned his arrest. Many people believe that Dr.
Halepota has been released because of this international pressure from all
over the world and his being the UK citizen. Sindhis living in UK and North
America also showed their strong anger toward this unjustified arrest.

UK and also prepare a report on his accounts.  He has personally conveyed his
thanks to all of the individuals and organizations who campaigned for his release.
