April 18, 2000, London, World Sindhi Congress (WSC) announced to organize
its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) for the year 2000 in July in London.
Every year, during its AGM an international conference on important issues
pertaining to Sindh is also organized. WSC invites various political leaders,
human rights activists, journalist, and academics belonging to various
parts of the world to these meetings. Important resolutions are presented
and passed by the delegates of the meeting. The summary of proceedings
of these conferences is published in WSC newsletters as well as on the
Internet and in various local and international newspapers and magazines.
This year’s conference theme is “New Millennium, New Challenges:
The Future of the Sindhi Nation.” This conference will provide a forum
to discuss new strategies for achieving true peace, democracy and prosperity
for Sindh and Sindhis as well as for the entire South Asia. This conference
will be held on Saturday July 22nd, 2000, at Sindhi Center, 230A Kenton
Road, Harrow, Middlesex HA3 8BY, London, UK.
WSC is inviting all the interested academics and human rights activists
to send proposals of speeches or papers relevant to this year’s theme.
Time allotted to each speech/paper is 20 minutes. The proposals can
